Solar:  “A coronal mass ejection (CME) launched from the sun on Feb. 24th appears set to hit both Earth and Mars. According to analysts at the Goddard Space Weather Lab, the cloud should reach Earth today, Feb. 26th around 1330 UT, followed by Mars two days later”    spaceweather.com

Iran:  Tensions are high with Iran. If we get into a war with them, my advice is to fill up your vehicle ASAP.  You might want to stop by the outlet market and stock up on food.  Iran will use all of their means to stop traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, and when that happens 30-40% of oil will stop flowing.  This means gas prices shoot up and food will follow. Financial:  Greece is close to defaulting. The more government fights that fact, the more the people fight them. There is an interview on the Ellis Martin report with Jim Sinclair a respected metals trader analyst. In it Jim talks about how five of the biggest US banks insured the bonds of Greece and other nations. If Greece defaults then these US Banks are the hook for paying out the insurance. This is one more issue that the US taxpayer might have to pay for.  He goes on to say how the International Monetary Fund is the deciding factor of whether a country will default or not. It is a very powerful interview. We have a global economy, what affects Europe will affect the USA.

Floods:  Oregon residents got hit hard by floods in January. This happens every few years and we are reminded that not all home owner’s insurance covers flooding.  If you are a home owner, it is in your best interest to see what disasters your house is covered, be that earthquakes, floods, fire or wind. You may be able to supplement your policy if certain “Acts of God” are not covered.

Gardening:  With March coming up quickly, now is the time to start thinking about gardening.  Here are some local sources that could help you out:  Tilth.org,  www.thedirt.org/ppg, www.cmastergardeners.org, www.independencegardenspdx.com, and your local gardening center.

New Blog/Site: While listening to The Survival Podcast, he mentioned a survival blog, TraceMyPreps (dot) com. He lives up in Washington, and his blog posts are very down to earth. Also, I learned about www.paladin-press.com that is focused on personal protection, and it is an amazing site.

Mid Week:  For those new to the site, every week I post new information on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Tuesday is information about our Constitution, if you are not familiar with your rights how do you know that they’re not being trampled on? Wednesday is something to uplift you, emergency preparedness can sometimes be a depressing topic, these are posted to bring some light to your day and Thursday is disaster show day.
