As my long time readers may notice, I have changed my header. There is a new look to my website, and I wanted to share with you the process of how this all came about.

I met with Nate on 11/11/11 to go over my ideas of the phoenix.  We discussed what current pictures I liked.  The colors I would like to see on the design.  Then in January we meet again, he had six outstanding examples.  I took them home, and took what parts of the design I loved. We meet for a third time and went over all of the ideas.  It was the end of January that I received the final design.

My editor in chief aka future wife was kind enough to work on the header to bring the most out of the design as possible.  I hope you enjoy it.

I want to thank Nate and Laura on an excellent job!!

The Phoenix dates back to the Egyptian times and is found in many “mythologies of the Arabian, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, (and) Chinese”. Every 500 to 1000 years the Phoenix turns itself to ashes and a new phoenix is born.

I choose the symbol because it connects with emergency preparedness very well. I like to remember that there cycles to life.  That all countries go through cycles, some never to regain again.  The earth goes through cycles of changes.  Are base fears will not stop earthquakes, volcanoes or comets.  But the hope that something better can grow from the turmoil is the core of my belief.
